To be honest most people mix these facts up big time. Do they forget one is region and the other religion. When I mention I am a malayali christian they think my mom wears a smock at home with a rather fancy name and we drink always! To add to it we are born carnivores ! Bizarre isnt it! If only I mention my uncle is in Dubai read Dufaiii ! Then he is an assembly line worker , surviving on one dirham meals , staying with other bachelors in a rented accomodation . While in reality its quite the opposite. To break the stereotypical thoughts is tough ! Why not enjoy it when people say such things and mentally prepare yourself to talk to them at their level.
